Punjab Education Foundation has surpassed its enrolment target, confirming admissions of four million students under the expanding public‑private partnership education model.
Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat stated that between 2002 and 2024, government schools enrolled 2.3 million children across twenty‑three academic years.
He added that from 2024 to 2026, Punjab achieved four million admissions within two years, exceeding previous records in significantly shorter time.
According to the minister, thirteen thousand schools have joined the partnership programme, making Punjab the largest public‑private education model in the world.
Hayat highlighted that Punjab has overtaken the United States charter school system, which currently accommodates 3.8 million students nationwide.
He confirmed that the budget for the foundation has increased by 250 percent, supporting creation of one hundred thousand jobs across the province.
The minister reported that more than thirty thousand individuals have been allocated schools under the partnership framework, strengthening provincial education infrastructure.
