The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) has opened applications for the Helmut-Schmidt Program 2026, offering fully funded master’s scholarships in Germany for international students.
Officially known as the Master’s Scholarships for Public Policy and Good Governance (PPGG), the program is aimed at graduates in fields including social and political sciences, law, economics, public policy, and public administration.
Funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, the scholarship seeks to prepare future leaders committed to strengthening democratic governance and supporting development in their home countries.
Selected candidates will have the opportunity to enroll in one of seven participating master’s programs offered by leading universities in Germany. Study areas include public policy, development studies, peace and conflict studies, and nonprofit management.
The program also places emphasis on leadership development, international networking, and governance training in addition to academic learning.
Successful applicants will receive structured support that includes preparatory German language courses and career development opportunities.
Applications for the 2026 intake are open until July 31, 2026, and interested candidates are required to submit applications through the official DAAD scholarship portal.
