The Sindh Education Department has introduced a strict policy for schools, focusing on reducing surplus staff and improving efficiency across the province.
Under the plan, senior teachers in schools with low student enrollment and excess staff will be offered early retirement through a golden handshake scheme.
Education Minister Sardar Shah stated that accurate teacher and student numbers will be confirmed after completion of facial recognition verification across schools.
Once identified, surplus teachers will only have the option to accept voluntary retirement under the golden handshake programme and step down from active service.
The minister added that recruitment powers for junior staff, including watchmen, gardeners, and peons, will be transferred directly to headmasters for better management.
Officials noted that in the past, unnecessary hiring created financial burdens for the department, and reducing surplus employees is expected to ease pressure on the education budget.
