A new rumor from China suggests that Oppo is working on a new mid-range A-series smartphone. The device may stand out due to its massive 10,000 mAh battery, which is unusually large for this segment.
According to the source, the upcoming Oppo phone is still without an official name. However, early details suggest it will feature a large flat LTPS OLED display with 1.5K resolution. This points toward a focus on sharp visuals and long battery life together.
However, the chipset remains unclear for now. The leak only states that the processor will be built on a 4nm process. Still, no exact model has been confirmed by the source.
Since it belongs to Oppo’s A-series, the phone is expected to sit in the mid-range category. Therefore, it is unlikely to use a flagship-level chip. Meanwhile, users on Weibo are already guessing possible options. These include the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4, Snapdragon 6 series chips, or MediaTek Dimensity 7500 and 7400.
Even so, nothing is confirmed yet. More leaks are expected to reveal the exact chipset in the coming weeks. In addition, the device is said to come with a plastic body design. The starting price is tipped to be around CNY 2,000. This is roughly equal to $295 at current exchange rates.
Overall, the phone could become one of the most battery-focused mid-range devices if these leaks turn out to be accurate.
