The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has announced that an upgraded home delivery service for passports will become fully operational from July 1, 2026, enabling citizens to receive their passports directly at their homes.
Director General Muhammad Ali Randhawa said the enhanced system is aimed at improving convenience for applicants and reducing the need for repeated visits to passport offices.
Under the new arrangement, citizens will be able to receive their passports at their doorstep, helping them save time and avoid lengthy waiting periods often associated with passport collection.
During a recent visit to several passport offices, Randhawa reviewed operational procedures and met with applicants to gather feedback on existing services. He directed officials to address public complaints promptly and continue improving service delivery standards.
The DG emphasized the government’s commitment to modernizing passport-related services through greater efficiency, transparency, and user-friendly processes. The upgraded home delivery system is part of broader reforms aimed at simplifying passport issuance and enhancing the overall customer experience.
Officials believe the initiative will help reduce overcrowding at passport offices, minimize delays, and provide a more streamlined process for citizens seeking travel documents.
The new home delivery mechanism is expected to significantly improve accessibility and convenience for passport applicants nationwide once it takes effect on July 1.
