Federal Minister for Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan has welcomed a new partnership aimed at supporting Pakistan’s electric vehicle (EV) and clean energy sectors. The Minister made the remarks at the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between StarCharge Energy Pakistan and Bahum Global. He described the agreement as a major milestone for Pakistan’s EV and clean energy industries.
Haroon Akhtar Khan called the deal one of the largest strategic partnerships between a Chinese company and a Pakistani company. He said the collaboration could support Pakistan’s move towards sustainable transportation, renewable energy, and industrial development.
The Minister also praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif for creating an investment-friendly environment. He said the government’s policies are encouraging investment, innovation, and industrial growth.
He also appreciated Omar Malik, Director of StarCharge Energy Pakistan, for his leadership and efforts to bring international investment and world-class EV charging technology to Pakistan. According to the Minister, such initiatives can help strengthen the country’s growing EV ecosystem.
Haroon Akhtar Khan said rising fuel prices and increasing energy demand make it important for Pakistan to expand EV infrastructure. He added that electric vehicles can offer cleaner, more efficient, and cost-effective transportation options.
The Minister further noted that greater investment in EV infrastructure could reduce Pakistan’s dependence on imported fuels. It could also support economic growth, technological progress, and environmental sustainability.
The partnership between StarCharge Energy Pakistan and Bahum Global is expected to promote clean energy goals through technology and investment. It also reflects both organizations’ commitment to supporting sustainable transportation and Pakistan’s long-term economic and industrial development.
The government is also focusing on electric mobility and renewable energy under Vision 2030. As a result, partnerships like this could play an important role in building a modern and greener transportation system in Pakistan.
