Netflix has confirmed that The Lincoln Lawyer will end after a fifth and final season, despite the legal drama’s viewership climbing from season to season, a rare trajectory for any streaming series. Series developer Ted Humphrey and co-showrunner Dailyn Rodriguez addressed the decision in a joint statement, promising fans “the satisfying finale Mickey Haller deserves.”
“All good things must come to an end, but thankfully sometimes how they come to an end is up to us,” the creators said. “From the very beginning, the mission was always not only to tell the story of Mickey Haller and his compatriots, but also to give that story a proper conclusion.”
The series has appeared on Netflix’s Global Top 10 charts for 29 weeks across its four seasons and accumulated 171 million views since its 2023 debut, according to Deadline. Its fourth season opened with 9 million views in its first weekend, an increase over the third season’s 7 million-view debut, making it one of the few Netflix originals to grow its audience deeper into its run rather than decline.

Netflix estimated that the first four seasons of The Lincoln Lawyer contributed over $425 million to California’s economy, employing more than 4,300 cast and crew members and filming across more than 50 locations in Los Angeles. Despite that economic footprint and growing audience numbers, the show will conclude its run with its upcoming fifth season.
