Xiaomi could soon expand its tablet lineup with a new premium model. A fresh leak has revealed the key specifications of the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro, giving an early look at its hardware and software. An image of the tablet’s About screen has surfaced online. It reveals most of the device’s core specifications before the official launch.
According to the leaked image, the Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro will use Xiaomi’s in-house Xring O3 chipset. The tablet will also feature 16GB of RAM, suggesting that Xiaomi is targeting users who need strong performance for gaming, multitasking, and productivity.
The rear camera setup includes a 50MP main sensor and a 2MP secondary camera. On the front, the tablet packs a 32MP selfie camera for video calls and selfies. The leak also shows that the Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro 12.5 will carry a large 12,000 mAh battery. It will ship with HyperOS 4 out of the box, which is expected to be based on Android 17.
Since the leaked About screen is in Chinese, the tablet will likely launch in China first. Xiaomi has followed the same strategy with many of its recent devices. However, it is still unclear if the Pad 8S Pro will reach global markets. That possibility seems uncertain because Xiaomi did not release any Xring O1 powered devices outside China. The Xring O1 was the company’s previous in-house chipset before the upcoming Xring O3.
The Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro may debut within the next few weeks. It is also expected to launch alongside the Xiaomi Mix Fold 5, which some reports also refer to as the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The foldable smartphone is also rumored to feature the new Xring O3 chipset.
