After a disappointing early exit from the Esports World Cup (EWC) 2026, Pakistani Tekken player Atif Butt just redeemed himself by securing the Tekken 8 championship at Community Effort Orlando (CEO) 2026. The prestigious fighting games tournament took place from August 14 to 16 at the Rosen Shingle Creek in Orlando, Florida.
This Master Tier event on the Tekken World Tour (TWT) drew more than 800 entrants. Consequently, it featured one of the largest competitive fields in the Tekken 8 division this year.
Road to the CEO 2026 Grand Final for Atif Butt
Atif, representing Team Falcons, faced a challenging path. Joonya 20z sent him to the Lower Bracket during the “Top 48” phase of the tournament. However, Atif quickly regained his momentum. He executed a dominant run through the Lower Bracket and punched his way through to the “Top 8” phase of the tournament. During the Top 8, he eliminated Kanme Shadow 20z with a clean 3-0 sweep. Then, he dispatched ONIC REST with another 3-0 victory to reach the Grand Final.
In the Grand Final, Atif faced JoeCrush. JoeCrush arrived undefeated from the winners’ side. Therefore, Atif needed to beat him twice to take the title.
The initial matchup was intensely competitive. Atif exclusively used Bryan against JoeCrush’s Jack 8. He managed to reset the bracket, winning the first set 3-2 by the finest of margins. After that reset, Atif became completely unstoppable. He delivered a flawless 3-0 sweep in the second set to seal the championship. Throughout the entire tournament, Atif effectively utilized both Dragunov and Bryan.
