The Apple iPhone 17 remained the world’s best-selling smartphone in Q2 2026, according to a new Counterpoint report. The result follows its top ranking in Q1 2026. Counterpoint says the iPhone 17 captured 6% of global smartphone unit sales during the quarter. Apple also placed five other models among the global top 10.
The iPhone 17 Pro Max ranked second, followed by the iPhone 17 Pro in third place. The iPhone 17e and iPhone 16 also secured spots in the top 10. Samsung led the Android rankings with the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company placed four more models in the top 10, including the Galaxy A07 4G, Galaxy A17 5G, Galaxy A17 4G, and Galaxy S26.
Apple’s sales grew across India, Japan, and the Middle East and Africa during the quarter. Sales in South Korea also nearly doubled, according to Counterpoint. Together, Apple and Samsung captured 26% of global smartphone sales in Q2 2026. That share was 2% higher than the same quarter last year.
However, the broader smartphone market faced a tougher quarter. Global smartphone sales declined by 11% during Q2 2026, highlighting stronger competition among major brands.
Despite the market decline, Apple and Samsung continued to dominate global smartphone sales. Apple’s iPhone 17 lineup, in particular, helped the company maintain its lead for another quarter.
