Samsung has started rolling out One UI 9, based on Android 17, to more Galaxy devices. The update is now available for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Galaxy Z Flip6. The rollout follows updates for newer flagship models. Samsung released One UI 9 for the Galaxy S26 series in mid-September. It later expanded the update to the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy Z Fold7, and Galaxy Z Flip7.
As with the earlier releases, Samsung is starting the latest rollout in South Korea. The update should reach other markets over the coming days and weeks. For Galaxy S24 users, the update is around 500MB for those who joined the beta program. However, the download is much larger for users moving directly from One UI 8.5. In that case, it weighs around 3.8GB.
The Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6 have similar download differences. Users coming from the beta program will download around 408MB. Those updating from One UI 8.5 will need around 3.5GB. One UI 9 first arrived with the Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8 in July. Samsung has since been bringing the software to its older flagship devices.
The latest rollout means more Galaxy owners can now access Samsung’s Android 17-based software. However, availability will depend on the market and rollout schedule.
