Apple has raised the price of its new iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max by $100 over their predecessors, pushing the Pakistan retail cost of the top models well past Rs 600,000 once PTA taxes are added. The increase was confirmed at Apple’s Wednesday event, where the company unveiled its latest flagship lineup.
The iPhone 18 Pro now starts at $1,199, while the larger iPhone 18 Pro Max begins at $1,299, both for the base 256GB storage variant. At current exchange rates, this translates to roughly Rs 332,000 for the iPhone 18 Pro and Rs 360,000 for the iPhone 18 Pro Max before any local taxes or duties.
For buyers in Pakistan, the cost rises further due to the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority’s (PTA) mobile registration tax, which adds close to Rs 250,000 for high-end imported handsets in this price bracket.
Including this tax, the iPhone 18 Pro is expected to cost around Rs 582,000, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max around Rs 610,000, once the devices are registered for use on local networks.
Both phones will be available for preorder starting Saturday, September 12, with official sales beginning September 18.
The price hike had been anticipated ahead of the launch and came in lower than some analysts had forecast. The $100 increase mirrors similar price adjustments made by Samsung for its Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, and by Google for its Pixel 11 and Pixel 11 Pro, suggesting a broader industry-wide trend toward higher premium smartphone pricing.
