Season 3 Reloaded is officially wrapping up. Just three days ago, Treyarch and Raven Software dropped the fourth May update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. Consequently, players have only a few days left to finish the RoboCop event pass. Developers are now shifting their focus toward Season 4 in the coming weeks. Support for Black Ops 7 remains incredibly strong as the community awaits the next Call of Duty title.
Huge Ranked Play Changes & MPC-25 Restrictions
The upcoming Season 4 brings a massive overhaul to Ranked Play. Treyarch will adjust the Skill Rating (SR) system entirely. Soon, SR will no longer factor in hidden Matchmaking Rating (MMR) or other uncontrollable variables.
Furthermore, developers implemented immediate restrictions on the MPC-25 submachine gun for Ranked Play. The MPC-25 currently dominates the competitive meta due to its high hipfire accuracy and damage output. Therefore, developers banned specific attachments to ensure competitive parity. It remains unclear when or if Treyarch will lift these restrictions in Season 4.
Breakdown of MPC-25 restricted attachments in Ranked Play:
| Attachment Category | Restricted Items |
| Muzzles | K&S Compensator, K&S Brake-2B |
| Underbarrel | Flowguard Foregrip |
| Fire Mods | Recoil Sync Unit, 5.56x30mm FMJ |
Crucial Black Ops 7 Multiplayer & UI Fixes
The massive file size of Black Ops 7 means some bugs occasionally slip through the cracks. Fortunately, this patch addresses several frustrating glitches. Previously, toggling a weapon’s fire mode failed to update on the user interface. Developers fixed this UI bug across all multiplayer game modes. Players will now see their active firing mode accurately reflected on the screen.
Additionally, the team patched a critical flaw with the Black Hat field upgrade. Before this update, players stealing a Sentry Turret could get stuck holding an undeployable weapon. Now, stolen turrets deploy correctly onto the battlefield without locking up the player’s hands.
Zombies Mode & Endgame Tweaks
Zombies fans also receive some much-needed attention in this patch. The fan-favorite Totenreich map features one of the toughest challenges in the game. Previously, a frustrating bug prevented players from earning the prestigious Aether Ruler title after clearing the map with all eight Wicked Relics active. This update finally fixes that progression blocker.
Moreover, developers resolved a secondary UI bug hiding Molotov skins in Zombies loadouts. Finally, Endgame players can now track their progress accurately. The update fixes an issue with Act II – Step 8, ensuring the “Eliminate 10 Nightmare enemies with an Ability” challenge registers correctly.
