A member of the Punjab Assembly from the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) has demanded the inclusion of Nawaz Sharif on the Rs. 5,000 national banknote.
The provincial lawmaker Arshad Malik made this political demand while standing at his designated assembly seat during a legislative session of the regional parliament.
The lawmaker held the Rs. 5,000 currency note in his hand and waved it while addressing the provincial chamber during the regular legislative proceedings.
The assembly member insisted that the portrait of the former prime minister should be printed alongside the founder of Pakistan who is Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The politician argued that the former prime minister made Pakistan an atomic power and played a vital role in driving forward the progress of the nation.
The lawmaker stated that the former prime minister established an extensive network of national roads and successfully guided the developing country toward sustainable economic growth.
