The federal government has projected Rs27.685 billion in revenue from 4G and 5G licences for FY2026-27, according to budget documents released Friday.
The allocation exceeds the Rs22.049 billion originally budgeted for FY2025-26, which was later revised upward to Rs24.973 billion during the fiscal year.
Under income from property and enterprises, the government expects Rs1.3 billion from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) surplus during the next fiscal year.
The projected amount is higher than the Rs1.1 billion budgeted for FY2025-26, although revised estimates later increased the figure to Rs1.64 billion.
Budget documents show the government has set a target of Rs14 billion from mobile handset levy collections during FY2026-27.
The allocation represents an increase from the Rs12 billion budgeted under the same head for the outgoing fiscal year, according to documents.
Meanwhile, the government has budgeted Rs4.736 billion from regulatory authorities’ surplus for FY2026-27, reflecting updated revenue expectations under projections.
The amount compares with Rs6.239 billion budgeted for FY2025-26, which was subsequently revised downward to Rs3.387 billion in estimates.
