The federal government has approved a 35% increase in salaries for university teachers serving under the Tenure Track System (TTS), with the revised pay package taking effect from July 1, 2026.
According to an office memorandum issued by the Ministry of Finance, the new TTS Pay Package 2026 applies to Professors, Associate Professors, and Assistant Professors employed under the TTS in universities across Pakistan.
Under the revised pay structure, the minimum salary of a TTS Professor has increased from Rs. 394,875 to Rs. 407,230, while the maximum salary has been raised from Rs. 684,450 to Rs. 712,030.
For Associate Professors, the minimum salary has been increased from Rs. 263,250 to Rs. 370,810, while the maximum salary has risen from Rs. 493,590 to Rs. 645,610.
Similarly, the minimum salary of Assistant Professors has increased from Rs. 175,500 to Rs. 288,020, while the maximum salary has been revised upward from Rs. 356,475 to Rs. 553,820.
The Ministry of Finance stated that TTS faculty members who were in service as of June 30, 2026, will be transitioned to the TTS-2026 pay scale at the same stage of their existing salary scale.
The revised package is aimed at improving compensation for university faculty and strengthening Pakistan’s higher education sector by making academic careers more competitive.
