List Of Public Holidays Announced By Government In 2025

The Cabinet Division has formally announced the 2025 public holidays, including those for national, Islamic, and minority-specific celebrations.

The government of Pakistan has officially announced the dates of the public holidays for the next year. Holidays for minority groups, national festivals, and Islamic celebrations are also part of the Cabinet Division’s announcement.

In 2025, certain significant holidays will be observed, such as Kashmir Day on February 5th, Pakistan Day on March 23rd, Eid al-Fitr, Easter (for minority groups), Labour Day on May 1st, Eid al-Adha, Ashura (10th Muharram), Independence Day, Mawlid al-Nabi (Eid Milad-un-Nabi), Quaid-e-Azam Day, Christmas Day, and Independence Day.

Islamic festivals and their associated holidays, such as Ashura, Eid al-Fitr, and Eid al-Adha, follow a lunar calendar that changes every year. As an added note, the general public does not observe certain holidays; they include the holidays honored by banks.

This notification clarifies the public holiday schedule for 2025, which will be enforced throughout all government institutions and important sectors.

However, the government also declared holidays for minorities, including the birthday of Guru Nanak Devji, Good Friday, Diwali, Holi, and Baisakhi.
