Huawei has officially unveiled the Pura X View, a new smartphone with an unusual wide-screen design. The phone is the world’s first non-folding smartphone to feature a wide display. Its design also closely resembles Huawei’s Pura X.
The Pura X View comes with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio and a resolution of 2,232 × 1,320 pixels. Huawei says the display can reach up to 6,500 nits of peak brightness. It also offers a 96.1% screen-to-body ratio with 1.05mm-thin bezels.
Despite its large battery, the phone keeps a slim design. It measures only 6.68mm thick and weighs 201 grams. Huawei has managed to fit a 7,000mAh battery inside the device.
The phone also features a triple rear camera system inside a horizontal, pill-shaped module. Huawei will offer the Pura X View in four color options. It will come with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
Huawei has not yet shared the phone’s complete specifications. Buyers in China can currently pre-reserve the Pura X View through Huawei’s official online store. The company will announce its full specifications, pricing, and availability on August 28.

A Weibo tipster has shared some additional details about the device. According to the leak, the phone will feature a 6.39-inch display and a Kirin 9030s chipset. The triple-camera system is also expected to include three 50MP sensors.
For now, Huawei has confirmed only a limited set of specifications. More details should arrive when the company officially launches the Pura X View on August 28.
