Samsung could bring an AI-powered custom widget feature to One UI 9.5. The feature appears similar to Google’s new Gemini Intelligence tool. Google calls its feature “Create My Widget.” It lets users describe a widget in plain language. Gemini then creates the widget and adds it directly to the home screen.
Samsung’s version is called “My Custom Widget,” based on a screenshot shared by the source. However, it remains unclear whether Samsung developed the feature itself.
The screenshot could also point to a rebranded version of Google’s tool. Google previously said Create My Widget would reach Pixel and Galaxy devices by the end of summer.
The Galaxy Z Fold8, Z Fold8 Ultra, and Z Flip8 are the first Samsung phones to support Gemini Intelligence. If Samsung uses Google’s version, these models could receive the feature first.
All three devices launched with One UI 9.0. As a result, users may need to wait for the One UI 9.5 update to access the feature.
Samsung could also roll out My Custom Widget as its own feature with One UI 9.5. More details should emerge as the company prepares the next software update.
Meanwhile, leaked screenshots and videos have already shown several changes coming with One UI 9.5. Samsung has yet to confirm whether My Custom Widget will be part of the update.
