Huawei, the famed Chinese telecom giant, and third largest smartphone manufacturer is gearing up to provide new amazing features in its midrange devices. After updating its Mate 10 series with Face Unlock feature in Pakistan, now the company is introducing this update to some of its sub-brand Honor’s devices.

Huawei Honor 7X and Honor 9 Lite are going to receive the Face Unlock update as confirmed by the company. Huawei via its Honor Pakistan Facebook page has recently confirmed about this development. The Facebook post of the company states that with this new Face Unlock feature “you can unlock your Honor phone with your face. #MaxYourExpression”.

The feature reportedly records more than 1,000 data points on the users’ face. Users can also opt to hide notifications on the lock screen, and it will only be shown when their face is recognized.

It must be noted that the Face Unlock feature will not be as secure as a fingerprint reader or Face ID of iPhone X but it will surely be very fast. The feature is powered by the combo of Huawei’s skin EMUI 8 based on Android Oreo 8.0 and its capable dual camera setup powered with AI.

The Honor 7X was recently launched in Pakistan and features a 5.93-inch edge-to-edge FullView display and an elegant design at a decent price. Whereas, the Honor 9 Lite introduced, last month, is powered by a HiSilicon Kirin 659 CPU processor with 32GB storage and 3GB RAM.
