A social media account called “Cockroach Party Pakistan” has emerged on Instagram, amassing nearly 20,000 followers within a short period, inspired by a similar youth-led movement that originated in India.
The Pakistani platform follows the pattern set by the original “Cockroach Party” campaign in India, where young social media users adopted the cockroach as a symbol of resilience, representing their ability to survive despite unemployment, inflation, academic pressure and economic hardship.
The Indian campaign used satire and creative content to highlight youth struggles and quickly gained widespread attention online.
Following the same approach, the Pakistani Instagram account now shares posts, postcards and messages created by young users. The content largely focuses on issues such as unemployment, economic conditions, inflation, education and the uncertain future facing the countrys youth.
The account has drawn considerable engagement, with its posts being widely liked and shared across social media platforms. Its distinctive style and messaging have also sparked debate among different online communities.
At present, “Cockroach Party Pakistan” remains solely a social media initiative. No confirmation has emerged linking it to any registered political party or formal electoral process.
