The Interior Ministry of Pakistan has established a dedicated Cyber Patrolling Cell to monitor criminal activity, extremist content, and anti-state conduct across social media platforms.
According to media reports, the cell will specifically track and hold accountable individuals who spread terrorism-related content or promote sectarian violence through online platforms.
Anti-state activities carried out through social media will be brought under direct surveillance and control by the newly established cell operating within the Interior Ministry.
The Interior Secretary will head the Cyber Patrolling Cell, providing senior-level oversight to ensure the unit operates with authority and institutional accountability across relevant departments.
The Interior Ministry has already completed procurement of the necessary staff and equipment required to make the Cyber Patrolling Cell fully operational at the earliest opportunity
