Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited has warned customers about possible internet slowdowns and service disruptions during a scheduled submarine cable repair operation starting May 11.
According to the company, the maintenance activity will be carried out by the International Cable Consortium to repair a fault in one of PTCL’s submarine cables.
The repair work is expected to continue until May 18, 2026.
PTCL said users may experience degraded internet services during the maintenance period, especially during evening hours, with slower speeds and occasional connectivity interruptions possible across Pakistan.
The company stated that the maintenance is necessary to restore the integrity of the submarine cable and improve the overall reliability and quality of internet services in the long term.
Officials said PTCL is coordinating with the International Cable Consortium to complete the repairs as quickly as possible and minimize disruption for customers.
