Gamers might get a new FromSoftware title this year. Rumors suggest the studio is currently developing a dark fantasy, pirate-themed action RPG. However, conflicting leaks have completely split the community. A recent 4chan dump, compiled by Reddit user ‘The-Noob-Smoke’, provides a starkly different look at this unannounced project.

Initially, leakers called the game Project FMC or Cerulean Assault. They also predicted an August release following a Summer Game Fest reveal. Conversely, the newest leaks completely reject these claims. Unlike Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, the game allegedly features no open-world sailing. Instead, the entire game takes place inside a single, island-sized shipwreck. This massive vessel has crashed and merged directly with a landmass. Moreover, the working title reportedly contains the word “Vessel”, and leakers offer no specific release window.
Players will supposedly control a character called the “Drowned” or “Deep Drowned”. This naming convention directly mirrors previous FromSoftware protagonists like the Tarnished or the Ashen One. Unsurprisingly, the gaming community remains entirely split on these rumors. Believers point to older “Project Abyss” rumors and the studio’s habit of reusing assets to train new developers. Consequently, fans speculate that developers used Elden Ring’s Cerulean Coast ships as a starting point. Meanwhile, skeptics compare this situation to the infamous, fake “Velvet Veil” leak from several years ago.
Furthermore, the leaks mention two other high-profile projects. FromSoftware is reportedly preparing to launch a separate game called The Duskbloods in 2026. Additionally, studio head Hidetaka Miyazaki is supposedly developing his dream game. This specific project is an action-fantasy mecha game featuring organic, biological mechs. Until FromSoftware officially announces anything, fans must treat all these details as mere speculation.
