Jazz and Huawei

ISLAMABAD: Jazz has teamed up with Huawei to implement solar energy at 1,000 of its telecom sites throughout Pakistan. Leveraging Huawei’s advanced iSolar technology, this initiative is set to generate around 15,000 MWh of clean energy annually, significantly reducing carbon emissions. This move is part of Jazz’s broader strategy to reach net-zero carbon emissions by 2050.

Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, emphasized that integrating renewable energy aligns with their mission to offer seamless connectivity while minimizing environmental impact. He highlighted that this shift not only benefits their business model but also supports sustainable energy use in Pakistan.

Similarly, Huawei’s President, Steven Yi, expressed enthusiasm for the project, seeing it as an opportunity to set a benchmark for green energy in the telecom sector and reduce operational costs for service providers.

The success of this solar initiative is expected to pave the way for broader adoption of renewable energy across Pakistan’s telecom industry, setting an example of how innovative technologies can drive both operational efficiency and sustainability.
