SNK originally launched Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves in April 2025. This release famously marked the franchise’s return for the first time since 1999’s ‘Garou: Mark of the Wolves’. Recently, the developer rolled out a massive first-anniversary update on April 24. This version 2.0.1 patch officially kicked off Season 2 with the character Wolfgang Krauser.
However, the patch included far more data than developers advertised. On April 25, Reddit user Cednym uncovered numerous unreleased character references hidden in the game’s files. The datamine successfully leaked 12 new fighters. These characters occupy system IDs PL038 through PL049. Consequently, players can expect SNK to deliver at least five post-launch DLC seasons.
Interestingly, these findings perfectly align with two earlier datamines from February and May 2025. Those earlier passes accurately flagged character IDs for Duck King, Blue Mary, Ryo Sakazaki, and Krauser well before their official reveals.
Projected Fatal Fury DLC Character Roadmap
Currently, ten of the twelve newly discovered character slots remain completely unnamed. Therefore, SNK could still easily alter the final release order. However, the files do explicitly label two highly anticipated fighters for Season 2:
- Mr. Karate
- Kenshiro from ‘Fist of the North Star’
Below is the complete breakdown of the leaked character slots and their estimated release seasons.
| Season & Estimated Year | Named Characters Leaked | Unidentified Character Slots |
|---|---|---|
| Season 2 (2026) | Mr. Karate (PL047) Kenshiro (PL036) |
None |
| Season 3 (~2027) | Rick (PL026) Duck King (PL033) |
PL039, PL040, PL048, PL049 |
| Season 4 (~2028) | Franz (PL017) Gao (PL016) Alfred (PL028) |
PL041, PL046, PL043 |
| Season 5 (~2029) | Ryo Sakazaki (PL029) Kasumi (PL027) |
PL042, PL045, PL038, PL044 |
Long-Term Plans & Price Cut
A multi-year, five-season roadmap clearly pushes this brawler onto a trajectory similar to Street Fighter 6. Coincidentally, Street Fighter’s own Ken Masters crossed over into Fatal Fury during Season 1.
Furthermore, SNK just permanently discounted the base game from $59.99 to $19.99. This aggressive price cut arrived directly alongside the anniversary celebrations. Ultimately, a heavily reduced entry price quickly expands the active player base. This strategy makes a multi-year pursuit of extensive paid DLC much more viable for the studio. SNK has not yet officially confirmed any roadmap plans beyond the currently running second season.
