Pakistan’s textile exports rose sharply to $1.81 billion in July 2026, increasing 43.13% month-on-month from $1.27 billion in June, according to provisional data from the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Textile exports also increased 8.07% year-on-year, compared with $1.68 billion recorded in July 2025. In rupee terms, textile exports reached Rs504.34 billion during the month.
Knitwear remained Pakistan’s leading textile export category, with exports rising 46.60% month-on-month to $533.84 million. The category also recorded 4.06% year-on-year growth.
Readymade garments exports increased 45.87% month-on-month to $459.99 million, marking a 15% year-on-year increase. Bedwear exports also climbed 47.13% from June to $308.50 million, up 4.16% compared with July last year.
Towels recorded the strongest month-on-month growth among major textile products, with exports rising 60.35% to $106.36 million. Made-up articles, excluding towels and bedwear, increased 58.51% month-on-month to $77.21 million.
Cotton cloth exports rose 26.27% month-on-month to $141.59 million, although they edged down 0.10% year-on-year. Cotton yarn exports increased 3.91% from June to $66.53 million and were 18.69% higher than a year earlier.
Meanwhile, Pakistan’s textile imports reached $682.21 million in July, up 5.37% month-on-month from $647.43 million and 14.82% year-on-year from $594.17 million. In rupee terms, textile imports stood at Rs189.93 billion.
Raw cotton imports declined 15.37% month-on-month to $186.34 million but increased 30.01% year-on-year. Synthetic and artificial silk yarn imports rose 43% month-on-month to $125.84 million, while worn clothing imports increased 6.30% to $62.36 million.
The latest figures indicate strong momentum in Pakistan’s textile export sector at the start of the new fiscal year, with major value-added categories including knitwear, garments, bedwear and towels recording significant monthly gains.
