Saudi airline Riyadh Air has expanded its operations in Pakistan by launching direct flights between Riyadh and Lahore, days after beginning services to Islamabad.
The airline’s inaugural flight, RX-676, arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport from Riyadh on Tuesday evening. The arrival was welcomed by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) Fire and Rescue Services with a traditional water salute.
Riyadh Air will operate three flights a week between Riyadh and Lahore, providing passengers with another direct air connection between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
A ribbon-cutting and cake-cutting ceremony was also held at the International Departure Lounge to officially mark the launch of the new route.
The Lahore service follows Riyadh Air’s entry into the Pakistani market through Islamabad on August 14. Its first flight, RX-660, arrived at Islamabad International Airport from Riyadh.
The PAA welcomed the airline’s expansion to Lahore and expressed support for its operations in Pakistan. The authority said the new route would strengthen air connectivity and further support cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
The launch of the Lahore route marks another step in Riyadh Air’s expansion into the Pakistani market and gives travelers an additional direct option between Lahore and the Saudi capital.
