Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) made a major leadership announcement today. The telecom giant appointed Mohammad Nadeem Khan as its temporary Chief Executive Officer (CEO). However, this high-profile appointment will only last for a brief period of 14 days.
PTCL disclosed this development in an official notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Thursday, July 2, 2026. Consequently, Nadeem Khan officially replaces the outgoing chief executive, Hatem Mohamed Bamatraf, effective today.
A Veteran Leader Steps Up
Nadeem Khan brings massive corporate experience to this temporary role. Currently, he serves as the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) for the entire PTCL Group, which includes both PTCL and Ufone 4G. Furthermore, he is a highly recognized business leader with nearly three decades of professional experience under his belt.
In fact, Khan has been associated with the PTCL Group for 20 years. During this long tenure, he played a crucial role in driving the company’s growth as a leading telecommunications provider in Pakistan.
Additionally, his professional influence extends well beyond the telecom sector. For instance, he also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of U Microfinance Bank Limited.
Moreover, his financial expertise earned him a prestigious national nomination. In May 2023, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) appointed him to its Accounting Standards Board (ASB) for a four-year term. In this role, he helps oversee the adoption, development, and implementation of accounting standards in Pakistan. He also actively recommends new International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
Corporate Footprint of PTCL
This leadership transition happens at a company with a long history in Pakistan’s tech landscape. PTCL was incorporated in Pakistan on December 31, 1995. Following its incorporation, the company officially commenced its business operations on January 1, 1996.
Today, PTCL continues to own and operate extensive telecommunication facilities across the nation. As a result, it provides critical domestic and international telephone services alongside other vital communication facilities throughout Pakistan.
