Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 is fast approaching its confirmed November release date. Fans are desperately hunting for any new details about the game. Meanwhile, the long-awaited third trailer remains missing. Fortunately, players just received a fresh casting update directly from a familiar voice.
Jim Santangeli, the actor who portrayed Simon Pearson in Red Dead Redemption 2, recently confirmed his involvement in GTA 6.
A Minor Role in a Massive World
Santangeli revealed his casting during a recent livestream. Initially, he told his audience that he did some “cool stuff” in the upcoming game. However, he quickly tempered expectations. He clarified that his contribution is a “little small bit”.

The actor refused to elaborate further. He likely signed a strict non-disclosure agreement with Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive. Consequently, players will need to listen closely to NPCs when exploring the game this November.
Finding him might take some effort. Rockstar is designing highly advanced NPCs for GTA 6. In fact, developers have recorded “hundreds of thousands” of lines of dialogue for the game’s massive open world.
Rockstar Loves Familiar Faces
Many fans only know Santangeli from Red Dead Redemption 2. Yet, GTA 6 will actually mark his third appearance in a Rockstar title. Back in 2008, he voiced uncredited wandering NPCs in Grand Theft Auto 4.
Furthermore, Rockstar Games regularly brings back trusted actors across different franchises. Shawn Fonteno played an unnamed Grove Street gang member in San Andreas before starring as Franklin in GTA 5. Jay Klaitz appeared as Lester in GTA 5 and later worked on Red Dead Redemption. Benjamin Byron Davis took roles in San Andreas, LA Noire, and Red Dead Redemption. Similarly, Ned Luke played Michael in GTA 5 and returned as an unnamed moonshiner in Red Dead Redemption 2.
The GTA 6 Protagonist Mystery Remains
Santangeli’s confirmation adds one name to the massive GTA 6 cast. However, Rockstar still keeps the primary stars a secret.
The studio has not officially revealed the actors portraying the game’s dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia. Interestingly, fans strongly suspect that Lucia’s actress previously appeared in GTA 5. As the November launch draws closer, players will soon discover exactly who else from Rockstar’s past is hiding in Vice City.
