Standard Chartered bank account holders can now verify their biometrics by simply using this app

No need to visit your Standard Chartered Bank now, you can easily authenticate your bank account by simply downloading the “SC PK biometric” app.

As we previously reported that your bank account will be blocked if you don’t verify biometrics before the given deadline by your respective banks. Some banks including Bank AL Habib have previously given the deadline until June 30 to verify biometrics and it is likely that banks will further delay the blocking of bank accounts.

But, this shouldn’t be a problem if you are a Standard Chartered bank account holder. There’s an app called SC PK biometric available on the Google Play Store as well as the Apple App Store to do the job with comfort of your home. The new app is solely made for biometric verification. The app uses NADRA’s biometric verification data to authenticate your bank account.

After installing the app, you will have to simply fill the blanks with required information such as your CNIC number and phone number. Afterward, you need to place your index finger (or the finger you choose from options) in front of the rear camera of phone (as shown in the cover image over the top) in order to authenticate your biometrics.

It is pertinent to note here that the State Bank of Pakistan had made it compulsory for banks to conduct the biometric verification of account holders in 2016. Before 2016, banks operating in Pakistan had no biometric authentication system and the entire process was handled manually. So, there should be no need to verify your biometrics if you have opened your bank account in 2016 or after that year.
