Today, a major bug was experienced by Facebook that resulted in a catastrophic feed of many users and the complaints pile is skyrocketing due to the issue. The bug was in the algorithm system of Facebook that led to this chaos. This is a very unique bug that was never seen before on any social media platform before.

The meme and heedles people have started to enjoy the glitch and are posting the celebrity posts like a machine. These contributions have increased the chaos on Facebook and the people who want their feed to be normal have increased their frustration levels due to this.

The way this glitch works is, that if you follow a celebrity on Facebook, which most Facebook users do, you would get all the posts that they are tagged into in your feed. Many people show their love for their stars by writing a celebrity post and tagging their celebrity in hopes that they might see it. So, people who are following a lot of celebrities have the worst feed right now and they are right to complain about it. Which they obviously did.

Downdetector, a site that tracks app and website meltdowns through user reports, shows a spike in complaints about Facebook from about 3.45 pm on Wednesday. With the huge pile of complaints, Meta, Facebook parent company said that;

 “We’re aware that some people are having trouble with their Facebook Feed. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

Facebook

This became a serious issue for major celebrities like Ronaldo, Eminem, Taylor Swift, Rihanna and many other biggest pages on Facebook. They include the pages of Cristiano Ronaldo, which has 152 million followers, Shakira, which has 116 million and Rihanna, which has 101 million. The glitch is affecting Facebook in many countries in both desktop web and mobile app users of Facebook.

The reason or the solution for this problem has not yet been announced by Meta. The feeds are not yet fully restored but the chances of this being a hacker’s are slim, as it is a stupid thing a hacker would do after trying so hard to get the access to Facebook algorithm system. This might be just a glitch or an honest mistake by Meta.
