WhatsApp’s new feature makes it very easy to delete unnecessary photos and videos

Facebook-owned WhatsApp continues to add new features to the app to make it more user-friendly.

WhatsApp has introduced another useful feature which will make it easier to manage storage space on your smartphone. It has introduced new storage settings in the settings menu which will show you the exact amount of memory a particular chat is taking on your phone. The new storage settings page will show you messages, videos, images, GIFs and audio messages separately that how much storage the each of them is taking on your phone.

You can see the exact amount of storage each mentioned thing is taking up for a chat. You can delete any one of them by selecting it. This feature will be very useful for group chats as a lot of unnecessary images and videos fill up your gallery and you can delete them from the new settings page.

The feature can be accessed by going to Settings → Data and storage usage → Storage usage. You’ll see a list of all conversations sorted in order of the space they take. The conversation which takes most space will show on top of the list.

This feature is currently available in version 2.17.340 which is in beta. If you want to test the feature now, you need to roll into the WhatsApp beta program.
