Xiaomi is preparing to launch its next flagship device, the Redmi K90 Max, later this month. The company will introduce it alongside the K Pad 2. Early details suggest Redmi is focusing heavily on cooling and performance this time, which could set the device apart in the premium segment.
One standout feature is the cooling system. The Redmi K90 Max will include the largest fan ever used in a smartphone. According to claims, this fan can reduce internal temperature by up to 10 degrees Celsius within just 100 seconds. This could help maintain performance during heavy gaming or long usage sessions.
Meanwhile, the device has appeared on the Geekbench database. It carries the model number 2604FRK1EC. A prototype unit was tested, giving an early look at its performance. The phone scored 3,513 in single-core and 10,711 in multi-core tests on Geekbench 6.6.
The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor. The tested unit included 16GB of RAM, although more variants are expected at launch. On the software side, the device will run Android 16, layered with HyperOS 3.
Rumors also reveal details about the display and battery. The Redmi K90 Max may feature a 6.83-inch OLED screen with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It is also expected to pack a large 8,500 mAh battery with support for 100W wired charging.
Despite including an internal fan, the phone is still expected to offer strong durability. Reports suggest it will carry IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance. This means the device could handle tough conditions without compromising performance.
