Punjab Govt Launches Special Travel Card for Students
LAHORE: The government of Punjab has reportedly decided to create a dedicated student travel card, as stated in a press statement.
During a provincial cabinet meeting, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, several matters were discussed.
The cabinet authorized a number of important measures at the meeting, one of which was a free transit service for seniors and those with disabilities.
In addition, the plan for a dedicated student travel card was approved. The Chief Minister told the relevant authorities to make a plan for starting a tram service. The Punjab cabinet has also agreed, in principle, to launch a special transport service for those with disabilities.
The ‘Zero Time to Start Policy’ for Special Economic Zones, Industrial Estates, and Small Industrial Estates was approved, marking a major step toward promoting industrialization in the province. The Chief Minister has appealed to investors, saying that they will be issued NOCs quickly if they step forward.
A “Cryoablation” equipment, a cutting-edge substitute for chemotherapy, will be purchased with Rs580 million in granted funds. Additionally, the chief minister directed the implementation of state-of-the-art cancer therapies for the people of Punjab.
The cabinet gave its approval to hire 5,960 constables and relaxed the rules for 127 Mass Transit Authority recruits. Furthermore, the Child Protection and Welfare Bureau was authorized to recruit for 87 positions.
To alleviate the scarcity of medical experts, the cabinet decided to raise the age requirement for Basic and Clinical Sciences doctor positions to 65 years old.
Tentative agreements were made to hire 25 people for the ICT of Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education and for four Danish schools in Tunsa and Mankera.
A decision was made in principle to hire 500 personnel under the Traffic Management Plan in Murree, and a supplementary grant was approved to recruit staff for empty roles in the Forest Department.
Around 30 million individuals would benefit from the Nigahban Ramadan Package, which received approval for Rs30 billion. This is another noteworthy milestone.
