Fortnite Sidekicks Are Here: Peels, Bonesy, Lil’ Raptor and CATS!!!

After months of leaks and speculation, Epic Games has officially confirmed that animal companions are coming to Fortnite. The new feature, called Sidekicks, launches on November 1, 2025, with the arrival of Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 5.

Sidekicks are small animal or animal-like companions that follow players across different Fortnite modes, including Battle Royale, Save the World, LEGO Fortnite, and select developer-made experiences.

Unlike traditional Pets from Chapter 1 Season 6, Sidekicks are more interactive. They react to the environment and respond to special Sidekick Emotes, but they don’t impact gameplay or take damage during combat.

Customisation and Sidekick Points

Players can customise their Sidekicks’ physical traits once when creating them. This design becomes permanent, though names and accessories can be changed anytime.

Cosmetics like hats and hoodies can be unlocked using Sidekick Points, a new in-game currency earned by spending time with these companions.

First Sidekicks Arriving in November

The first Sidekick, Peels, a banana-themed dog, will be available through the Chapter 6 Season 5 Battle Pass.

On November 7, more Sidekicks, namely Bonesy, Spike, and Lil’ Raptor, will appear in the Fortnite Item Shop. Epic also teased more companions in their official announcement. The main highlight… CATS!!!

“Not long after, we’ll have something for all the cat people out there!”

Players who already own the Bonesy Back Bling from Chapter 1 Season 6 will automatically receive the Bonesy Sidekick for free, though it may take time to appear in their Locker.
