The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) has officially extended its semester vacations by one week, providing relief to students ahead of the Spring 2026 academic session. The university will now reopen on February 9, with classes starting on the same day instead of the previously announced February 2.
According to an official notification issued on Saturday, the decision applies to all academic programs, including morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend classes. UET has also rescheduled Spring 2026 semester registration to February 9 to align with the revised reopening date.
A university spokesperson said, “The extension has been granted to ensure smoother academic planning and student convenience before the commencement of the new semester.”
Universities across the country have recently been adjusting academic calendars due to administrative reviews and session planning. UET’s decision follows similar schedule changes announced by other public-sector institutions in recent weeks.
With the revised schedule, students are advised to stay connected with their respective departments for updated timetables and registration instructions. Academic activities across all campuses will resume fully from February 9.
