Renowned Indian umpire Anil Chaudhary has responded to the recent controversy involving Pakistani spinner Usman Tariq and Australian all-rounder Cameron Green over a bowling action.
The controversy surfaced during the second innings of the second T20I at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore last week when Green accused the Pakistani spinner of ‘chucking’ after being dismissed for 35 runs.
Responding to this, Anil Chaudhary said that bowling action of Pakistani spinner is slightly side-on and different, with a brief pause, but all deliveries are identical and his arm stays within ICC guidelines.

A series of unexpected scenes unfolded on Saturday after Australian all-rounder was dismissed by Usman Tariq in the second game of the three-match T20I series in Lahore.
Green, the last hope for the visitors in their chase of 196 runs, showed visible frustration after his dismissal, walking back to the bench with gestures suggesting he accused Tariq of ‘chucking’.
On Sunday morning, the right-arm spinner appeared to taunt the Australian cricketer by sharing a video of a crying child on Instagram, captioned “After getting out,” accompanied by a laughing emoji.
The following day, Tariq posted “Apology accepted” on his official Instagram account, implying that the right-handed batter had reached out and apologised to the Pakistani bowler for the previous incident.
The 28-year-old spinner has represented the Green Shirts in just three T20I games, taking eight wickets at an average of 7.50 and an economy rate of 5.62.
It is pertinent to note that Pakistan whitewashed the visiting side 3-0 after the home team claimed the final game by 111 runs, thanks to a brilliant bowling display by Mohammad Nawaz.
