Pakistan opener Fakhar Zaman has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Bangladesh due to a hamstring injury sustained after recent T20 World Cup action.
The aggressive batter impressed with his innings against Sri Lanka in the ICC T20 World Cup but will now undergo rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy to regain full fitness.
The Men in Green are scheduled to tour Bangladesh this month, with the squad arriving in Dhaka on 9 March ahead of practice sessions starting the next day.
The first ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh will take place on 11 March, followed by the second on 13 March and the third on 15 March, all at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium.
This will be the second visit to Bangladesh since July 2025, when Bangladesh won the T20I series, highlighting the competitive history between the two teams in recent years.
Sources suggest regional tensions could affect the tour, but provided current travel risks do not increase, the series is expected to continue according to the original schedule.
Selectors are reportedly considering young players inclusion in the squad to strengthen the team, with underperforming T20 players potentially replaced by emerging talents for the upcoming matches.
The squad may see young players replacing established names, including opening batter Saeem Ayub, Babar Azam, and all-rounder Mohammad Nawaz.
