Apple’s long-rumored foldable iPhone is coming into focus. Leaks suggest the device could debut in September, likely sharing the stage with the iPhone 18 Pro series.
According to the new leak, the iPhone Fold will arrive in three storage options. The leak also outlines possible pricing for the Chinese market.
The base model with 256GB storage could cost CNY 15,999. Buyers who want more space may opt for the 512GB version at CNY 17,999. At the top end, the 1TB model is tipped to carry a price tag of CNY 19,999.
A direct currency conversion places the 256GB model at around $2,330. That figure lines up with earlier leaks about Apple’s foldable pricing. However, the real US price may look different. As noted by Macworld, Apple rarely sticks to simple exchange rates when setting global prices. When you compare the iPhone 17 Pro pricing in the US and China, the gap becomes clear. Based on that trend, the iPhone Fold could start closer to $1,999 in the US.
At the same time, new hardware details have surfaced. A report from The Bell sheds light on the phone’s memory setup. The publication says Apple has ordered 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM for the device. The DRAM will be supplied by Samsung Electronics.
If these details hold, Apple’s first foldable will target the ultra-premium segment. The pricing suggests it will compete at the very top of the smartphone market.
