The Directorate General of Immigration and Passports has revised the working schedule of passport offices across Pakistan as part of the government’s austerity and fuel conservation measures.
According to the official notification, passport offices will now operate four days a week, remaining open from Monday to Thursday under the new schedule.
Officials said the decision was taken to reduce fuel consumption and energy usage in line with the government’s efforts to manage resources amid current economic and regional challenges.
However, regional passport offices that provide 24-hour services will continue to operate normally to ensure that essential passport services remain available to the public.
Meanwhile, the Islamabad Asaan Khidmat Center will maintain its existing shift-based system to facilitate passport applicants without disruption.
Authorities confirmed that the revised working hours have been implemented with the approval of the Director General of Immigration and Passports.
