The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced a record prize fund of $8,764,615 for the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026, hosted in England and Wales.
The prize pool represents a ten percent increase on the $7,958,077 distributed across the ten competing nations at the 2024 edition of the tournament.
For the first time in the tournament’s history, twelve teams will compete, with the opening match scheduled for 12 June and the final at Lord’s.
| Position | Prize Money |
|---|---|
| Winners | $2,340,000 |
| Runners-up | $1,170,000 |
| Semi-finalists | $675,000 each |
Each group-stage victory will earn teams $31,154, and all twelve participating nations are guaranteed a minimum prize of $247,500 regardless of results.
ICC Chief Executive Sanjog Gupta said the expansion to twelve teams and the record prize pool reflect the governing body’s commitment to growing the game.
The official ICC Trophy Tour also launched on Monday and will travel across Europe in the weeks leading up to the tournament’s opening day.
The tour began in London, with the trophy displayed at Lord’s Cricket Ground, the venue confirmed to host the Women’s T20 World Cup final.
A projection of the trophy’s silhouette was displayed onto the famous Lord’s pavilion to mark the start of the sixty-day countdown to the tournament.
The trophy will visit three qualified European nations, the Netherlands, Ireland, and Scotland before continuing its tour across host cities in England throughout May.
Planned stops include Millennium Square in Leeds, St Peter’s Square in Manchester, Bullring in Birmingham, Cabot Circus in Bristol, and Guildhall Square in Southampton.
The tour will conclude with a visit to Trafalgar Square in London, offering fans across the host cities the chance to see the trophy.
