Punjab Traffic Police has intensified enforcement measures across the province following new directives issued by the Punjab Traffic DIG to reduce road accidents and improve compliance with traffic laws.
According to the directive, licenses of drivers involved in fatal accidents will be revoked, while unlicensed drivers found responsible for accidents will face legal action and criminal cases.
Authorities have also been instructed to deploy additional traffic personnel in accident-prone areas to strengthen monitoring and enforcement.
Strict action has been ordered against multiple violations, including one-way breaches, with offending vehicles to be impounded and fined. Motorcyclists not wearing helmets and drivers failing to use seat belts will also face penalties.
In addition, the use of mobile phones while driving has been strictly prohibited, with officers directed to take immediate action against violators. Emphasis has also been placed on enforcing lane discipline to ensure smoother and safer traffic flow.
Officials say the measures are part of a broader effort to enhance road safety and reduce the rising number of traffic-related incidents across Punjab.
