Mismanagement continues to plague the ongoing matriculation exams in Karachi. Today, April 18, the 10th-class Physics paper allegedly leaked on WhatsApp. Consequently, candidates openly used smartphones to cheat during their exams. At a centre in Malir, students collectively cheated using mobile devices. Similarly, reports indicate nobody stopped the open cheating at the Government Boys Secondary School in Kala Board.
The third day of the annual examinations generated widespread complaints. Students faced inadequate facilities and rampant irregularities across multiple locations. Furthermore, police registered a case after receiving claims that an examination centre accepted bribes to facilitate cheating. Board Chairman Ghulam Hussain Soho visited various sites. However, severe irregularities continued to surface throughout the city. To maintain order, authorities kept Section 144 in force around all examination centres.
The Board scheduled the 10th-class Physics paper that got leaked for the first shift, running from 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Later today, students will take the 9th and 10th-class General Science paper in the second shift from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. The administration explicitly advised all candidates to bring their admit cards to enter the examination halls. Previously, the Board of Secondary Education Karachi conducted Biology papers for classes IX and X in the morning shift. Over 385,529 students appeared for these exams across 521 different centres.
