Honor is not slowing down after the buzz around its latest smartphones. The company has now introduced a new tablet, the Honor MagicPad3 Pro 12.3, in China. This launch adds to its growing tablet portfolio and brings a slightly compact version of last year’s MagicPad3 Pro 13.3, but with some notable changes in hardware and design.
This time, the display takes a clear step forward. The tablet features a 12.3” OLED panel with a 3,000×1,920px resolution. It also supports an adaptive 60-165Hz refresh rate and carries a 15.6:10 aspect ratio. As a result, users can expect smoother visuals and better color output. The panel reaches up to 3,000 nits peak local brightness, which improves visibility in bright conditions. In addition, it supports stylus input through the optional Magic Pencil 3, making it suitable for creative work and note-taking.
Under the hood, Honor has made a chipset adjustment. The device runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 instead of the SD 8 Gen 5 Elite. While the change may look minor, it still delivers solid performance for daily tasks and multitasking. Buyers can choose configurations with up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. However, all models support Wi-Fi only, with no cellular option available.
The design stays slim and lightweight. The tablet uses an aluminum chassis that measures just 4.8mm in thickness and weighs 450 grams. On the back, it carries a 13MP camera, while the front includes a 9MP sensor for video calls and selfies. This setup keeps things simple but functional.
On the software side, the tablet runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. Honor also adds a dedicated PC mode, which offers a desktop-style interface with windowed apps. This feature aims to improve productivity, especially for users who rely on tablets for work tasks.
Battery life remains a strong point. The device packs a 10,100mAh battery with 66W wired charging support. It also supports up to 27W reverse wired charging, which allows users to power other devices when needed.
The MagicPad3 Pro 12.3” arrives in Starry Gray and Moonlit White color options. In China, pricing starts at CNY 3,999 ($586/€501 converted) for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The top-end 12GB RAM and 512GB storage model costs CNY 5,199 ($762/€652 converted). Honor plans to begin shipments on April 28.
