Punjab Traffic Police has announced fines of Rs 2,000 for motorcyclists who operate their vehicles without working turn indicators, warning of strict and immediate enforcement across the province.
According to the details, authorities state that missing or broken indicators are a significant contributor to road accidents, putting the rider and other road users at direct and serious risk.
Officials point out that functional indicators cost around Rs 400, making the repair cheaper than the penalty that violating motorcyclists will face under the new enforcement drive.
Traffic police described the expense as a minimal investment that can prevent accidents, reduce injuries, and protect the lives of riders along with their families on the road.
Police has also reinforced the mandatory use of helmets and regular motorcycle maintenance as essential requirements for all riders operating vehicles across the province.
Authorities said these combined safety measures are necessary to ensure that individuals and their families travel more safely on roads in Punjab each day without risk.
The Punjab Traffic Police confirmed that enforcement operations will be intensified across the province, and all violators will be penalised without exception or leniency going forward.
The crackdown is part of a broader provincial effort to improve overall road safety standards and reduce the number of traffic-related incidents and fatalities recorded each year.
