Pakistan’s automobile market recorded a sharp surge in sales during April 2026, reflecting strong recovery in demand across passenger cars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles, according to data reported by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).
Car sales stood at 22,015 units in April 2026, marking a 107 percent year-on-year increase and a 42 percent month-on-month rise. This pushed total sales for the first 10 months of FY26 to 166,044 units, up 49 percent compared to the same period last year.
Industry analysts attributed the strong growth to new market entrants, recent model launches, improved consumer sentiment, lower inflation in earlier months, and increased access to auto financing.
Among major performers, Sazgar Engineering reported sales of 2,225 units in April, showing a 4.1x year-on-year increase, supported by the launch and deliveries of its new TANK variant.
Pak Suzuki Motor Company posted a significant jump in sales to 11,012 units, driven largely by strong demand for Alto and Swift models, which saw substantial growth both annually and monthly.
Honda Atlas Cars recorded sales of 2,716 units, while Indus Motor Company reported 4,330 units sold during the month, supported by steady demand for Corolla, Yaris, and Fortuner models.
Hyundai Nishat Motors also saw growth, reporting 1,002 units sold, mainly driven by the Tucson SUV.
The two- and three-wheeler segment also performed strongly, reaching 190,340 units in April 2026, an all-time high for the category, reflecting rising demand for affordable mobility solutions.
Atlas Honda reported 163,000 units sold, marking another record month for the company.
Tractor sales increased by 76 percent year-on-year, while truck and bus sales rose by 58 percent, indicating broader recovery across Pakistan’s transport and industrial vehicle segments.
Analysts say the strong performance in the auto sector is being supported by improving macroeconomic conditions, easing inflation pressures, and gradual recovery in consumer purchasing power, although financing conditions remain a key factor shaping future demand trends.
