The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced the opening of applications for GRE General Training under the US-Pak Knowledge Corridor PhD Scholarship Program, aimed at preparing Pakistani students for admission to leading universities in the United States.
According to the commission, the training program is open to outstanding Pakistani and AJK nationals who intend to pursue PhD studies under the initiative designed to strengthen academic and research collaboration between Pakistan and the United States.
HEC confirmed that GRE training sessions will be conducted in Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta to facilitate applicants from across the country.
Applicants are required to have completed at least 16 years of education and maintain a strong academic record to be eligible for participation.
The age limit for applicants is below 40 years for government and public sector faculty members, while candidates from other categories must be under 35 years of age.
The last date to apply for the training program is June 20, 2026.
HEC stated that candidates who achieve a GRE score of 300 or above may become eligible for ETS fee reimbursement as well as consideration for scholarships at top QS-ranked universities in the United States.
The GRE requirement is also part of multiple eligibility criteria under the broader US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor scholarship scheme, which supports advanced academic training and research development.
The US-Pakistan Knowledge Corridor initiative was launched to enhance research collaboration and develop highly qualified scholars who can contribute to Pakistan’s higher education and research sectors upon completion of their studies.
