Pakistan has announced plans to award 500 scholarships to Bangladeshi students over the next five years as part of efforts to strengthen educational cooperation and people-to-people ties between the two countries.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the initiative builds on the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor, first announced by Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar during his visit to Bangladesh in August 2025.
The second phase of the Knowledge Corridor was officially launched on May 10, 2026, in Dhaka, marking an important step in expanding academic collaboration between the two countries.
Under the program, a Bangladeshi delegation is currently visiting Pakistan for a three-week engagement aimed at strengthening institutional partnerships and academic exchange.
The Foreign Office stated that the initiative is designed to promote long-term educational linkages, research collaboration, and deeper bilateral engagement through student and faculty exchanges.
Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has expressed satisfaction over the progress of the program, noting improving momentum in Pakistan-Bangladesh relations under the Knowledge Corridor framework.
The initiative is expected to serve as a key platform for enhancing educational diplomacy and fostering stronger ties between the two countries in the coming years.
