Pakistan’s automotive sector is gearing up for a heavily active second half of the year. Starting next month, automakers will introduce 23 new cars to the local market. Arif Habib Limited (AHL) recently confirmed these upcoming releases through its Upcoming Automobile Launch Tracker. Consequently, local car buyers will witness continuous vehicle rollouts from June through December 2026.
The Shift Toward Electrified Mobility
The upcoming lineup of new cars highlights a definitive industry shift toward electrified mobility in Pakistan. Automakers are largely abandoning traditional combustion engines in favor of battery-powered options.
Specifically, the AHL tracker categorizes the 23 upcoming launches by the following powertrains:
- Electric Vehicles (EVs): 9 models
- Plug-in Hybrid/Range Extender Vehicles (PHEVs/REEVs): 11 models
- Petrol Vehicles: 3 models
Therefore, traditional petrol vehicles make up just 13% of the upcoming auto launches.
Month-by-Month Launch Schedule
The launch wave begins immediately. Automakers have scheduled seven vehicle debuts for June 2026 alone. For instance, Changan will introduce the petrol-powered UNI-S. Additionally, GWM will launch the Cannon Alpha PHEV. MG plans to roll out two electric models, the IM5 and IM6. Furthermore, Jetour will debut the T1 and T2 petrol vehicles, while Omoda brings the C7 PHEV.
Following this, July will deliver four new models. Jaecoo will launch the J8 PHEV. Next, Nevo plans to introduce the Q05 REEV and A06 EV, while Deepal prepares to release the G318 REEV.
Moving forward, August will see three new arrivals. Ora will launch the O5 EV. Meanwhile, Deepal will bring the Hunter K50 REEV, and Avatr will introduce the 11 EV.
Subsequently, September features two planned launches. Chery will roll out the QQ3 EV, and Deepal will debut the S09 REEV. October slows down the pace, featuring just one confirmed launch: the Changan Lumin EV.
Finally, December concludes the year with a massive batch of six releases. Denza will launch both the B5 and B8 PHEV models. Moreover, BYD will introduce the Sealion 6 PHEV, and Nevo will roll out the Q07 PHEV. Avatr will debut the 07 EV, and Aion will cap off the year by releasing the ES EV.
